Having enjoyed the Easter Bunny Hunt and the chocolate eggs, come and enjoy the beautiful course of Cahir Park Golf Club on Bank Holiday Monday  18th April and play in our OPEN Champagne Scramble.

Tuesday 5th April Ladies 12 Hole Champagne Scramble. 

Another wonderful day of exciting golf in the park.  Congratulations to Kathleen Lonergan,  Ann McLaughlin,  Betty Buttimer and Breeda Wall who won with 72 Pts and to second place Team of Margaret Gill,  Ann Mulcahy,  Helen McCarthy and Kay Dalton who returned 66 Pts.

Special mention of Ann Corbett who had a Birdie on 16th Hole from her own Drive.

Thursday 7th April 18 Hole S/F Singles 

The first day of qualifying competition brought all the weather seasons possible.  Undaunted,  Claire Neligan (H/C 39) and Caroline Maher (H/C 18) played wonderful golf with Claire winning on 38 Pts and Caroline second with 33 Pts.  The Handicaps will be dropping very fast Ladies !  Well done !

Curtains & Blinds sponsored Spring League Matchplay Finals

The extended Spring League Matchplay competitions concluded on Sunday 10th April.  Three Pairs set out to play in a bracing cold breeze and provided very exciting and very competitive matches.

The Intermediate Pair (H/C 13 – 20.9) of Susan Carey and Kathleen Lonergan played the decider game on the 18th with Susan winning.

Minor Pair (H/C 21 – 27.9) of Imelda Fitzpatrick and Pauline Mulcahy got to 17th Hole with success going to Pauline.  The Challenge Pair (H/C 28 – 36) of Breda Hickey and Carrie Healy decided Match on 16th with Breda winning the Match.

Beautiful Prizes were presented by Sponsor,  Lisa Blackett of Curtains & Blinds Clonmel.

Lady Captain Margaret Gill thanked Lisa, Anne and Ricky Fitzgerald for their very generous sponsorship of what had been a most enjoyable and successful League.   Margaret thanked Miriam Halley, Competitions Secretary for all the work she put into organising the Matchplay and arranging Categories and following up on matches and results.  Each Winner expressed thanks to everyone they played in their respective league and said their Final match was very close and most enjoyable.

Congratulations to Winners, Runners-up and to all who participated.

Mary McKenna Diamond Trophy 

With a two year lapse due to Covid-19,  there is excitement about participating this year in this much loved competition.  Our Ladies play Roscrea Ladies on Friday 15th April in Roscrea Golf Club in the first round.  We wish our Ladies success and a very enjoyable day.

Mens

Our ABP Open Singles qualifiers kicked off last week and thank you to all who entered. The results from Tuesday 5th April to Thursday 7th April 2020 are as follows:

Winner: Kevin McGuire Jnr (16) with a solid 40 points. Well done Kevin. In second place was Thomas Regan (24) one point back on 39 points.

The qualifiers will continue weekly up to October. Limited times available for the competition on Tuesday and Thursday along with all day on Wednesday.

We held an Easter Hamper 18 Hole Stroke competition from Friday 8th April To Sunday 10th April. We are very grateful for Dolans Supervalu Cahir for their kind sponsorship of this competition.

The overall winner was Patrick Moloney (16) with a 65 nett. Great shooting Patrick. In second place was

John Morrissey (16) 69nett(B9) just piping Anthony Hogan (17) who came third also returning a 69 nett.

The gross prize went to Jack White playing off 3 with a gross score of 74. Well done to all.
