Ladies Spring League

The Banor sponsored Ladies Spring League concluded this week after numerous very competitive match play games.  A delightful Prize presentation evening was held in the Clubhouse on Saturday 22nd April.  The beautiful prizes were presented by Nicola Lyons, Co-founder of Banor, with Elaine Crosse, who unfortunately, was unable to be present.

The results of the Spring League:  Intermediate;1st Julie Connolly, 2nd Breda Keating.  Minor:  1st Rosaleen Fitzgerald, 2nd Hilary Murphy. Challenge:  1st Anne Fahy, 2nd Bernie English.

Captain Mary Lyons congratulated and thanked everyone who played in the League, all the support Staff who helped with running the games and especially the generous Sponsors, Banor, the Skin Shepherd.

Challenge Cup Team

Hard luck on the Ladies who were unsuccessful in the Challenge Cup match on Sunday against the Ladies of Mitchelstown Golf Club and played in Mitchelstown.

The Panel of Lisa Blackett, Bernie English, Anne Fahy, Marie Devitt, Anne Walsh and Breda Kavanagh fought hard on the day.  Thank you to Team Managers, Kathleen Alton and Noreen Hally and the bevy of great caddies.  Best wishes to the Mitchelstown Ladies in the next round.

Mixed Foursomes

Unfortunately our Mixed Foursomes Team was unsuccessful on Saturday against Tramore, who had home advantage.  Team Managers were Sean Casey and Chris Noonan.

InterClub Competitions

The ladies regroup for Tuesday 25th April with Minor Team out against Youghal and Intermediate Team play Clonmel.  Both competitions are being played in Cahir Park.

Find The Golf Ball

The Find The Golf Ball draw continued with the latest draw taking place on Saturday 22nd of April. The envelope drawn was Marie Devitts and her number was 33. It was not a winner but Marie still receives €20. The next draw will take place on Saturday 29th of April with a jackpot of €880.

Mens

Mens Golfer Of The Year

The Men’s Committee have decided to try something different this year as we compete for the prestigious title of Golfer of the Year.

The 10 stroke play competitions will count for scoring and the dates of these are available on the Club fixtures brochure subject to weather conditions.

10 points is awarded to the winner, descending by ½ point for the top 14. Anyone outside the top 14 who shoots to their handicap will be awarded 3 points.

At the end of the season the top 24 will play off for Golfer of the Year (Date to be announced) Leading qualifier starts at -3, second at -2 and third at -1.

Entry Fee is €8 excluding the Captain’s and President’s prize entry fee.

The Ted Linehan (PAST CAPTAIN) MEMORIAL CUP weekend will take place
