Monday Evening Golf 

Social golf on Monday evenings has commenced.  A 12 Hole Champagne Scramble with Draw times at 5pm, 5.30pm and 6pm.  Thanks to Susan Carey and Catherine English who are running this very enjoyable Mixed Golf event which is open to Golfers of all ages and abilities and is an opportunity to meet with other Club members.

Ladies OPEN Day Thursday 25th May

A day to look forward to, very kindly sponsored by O’Brien Pharmacy, Cahir,  the competition is an Open 3 Ball Waltz.  Booking through ProShop 052 7441474.

Mary McKenna Diamond Trophy Competition

Congratulations to the Cahir Park Ladies who won the second leg of the First Round of the Mary McKenna Diamond Trophy Competition with a comprehensive victory over a very strong Ballyneety Golf Club Team.  Cahir Park Team is managed by Ger Lyons and Margaret Costello.

Monday Ladies 9 Hole Qualifying Competition

The Monday 9 Hole Competition is well supported and proving quite the event for the Ladies who finish the game with a picnic.

Congratulations to Ann Mulcahy (17) who won with 15pts on Monday 8th May and Geraldine Cooney (21) who won with 14pts on 15th May.

Continued success and enjoyment Ladies.

Nancy Doyle Cup

The Tuesday Ladies played 12 Holes Singles Stapleford for the Nancy Doyle Cup on 16th May.  There was a wonderful entry for the competition and congratulations go to Marie Reidy who won the Cup with 28pts.  Second and Third place was decided on countback with Rosemary Maher pipping Jo Doyle, both recording excellent 27pts.  A very sociable afternoon and prize presentation by Captain Mary Lyons followed.  Much thanks go to Margaret Costello,  Seniors Convenor to Ladies,  who organised the competition and runs the weekly very enjoyable Scramble.

Junior Foursomes Team

Hard luck on Team and Managers who had no success playing Tipperary Ladies at Tipperary Golf Club on Monday.   Thank you to all the Players and Managers for your commitment and hard work in preparing for all matches.

Good wishes to Tipperary Ladies in the next round of the competition.

18 Hole Stroke Medal Competitions

The 18 Hole Stroke Medal Competition was won on Thursday 18th May by Eleanor Cummins (35) with fantastic 71 shots Nett and Catherine English (33) was second with equally strong 76 nett.  On Sunday 21st May, Michelle Keating (13) continued her excellent run of successes with a 73 nett score.   Congratulations Ladies.

Cahir Park Golf Club Classic 

The Classic Weekend has arrived.

Commencing with a Shotgun start at 2pm on Friday, 26th, followed by BRS bookings on Saturday and two Shotgun starts on Sunday,  9am and 2pm, there are great prizes to play for and the added opportunity to win again with every Scorecard entered to a Draw for excellent prizes.

This fundraising Classic is to generate extra funds to support Course Development,  in particular to upgrade Machinery.

Find the Golfball Draw

Result of the Find the Golfball draw which took place on Saturday 20th May. The envelope drawn was for the O’Donnell Girls c/o Jackie Walsh. Their number was 11, not a winner. The girls do win €20.

Next week’s draw will take place on Sunday the 28th May with a jackpot of €1,000. The envelope drawn, if not a jackpot winner, will receive €100.

Mens

Congratulations to Paul Nugent who had a hole in one on the 16th hole during the ABP Open Singles. He was also in the weekly Pro Shop 2s and receives €154.

The ABP Open Singles Qualifier continues each week and from the 9th May to 11th of May Michael O Gorman came out on top with 46 points playing off 27 and Kalle Hogan in second place with 42 points playing off 19.

We then switched to our weekend open singles from 12th May until 14th of May.

Category 1 was secured by Paul Touhy with a very solid 38 points playing off 2. Category 2 went to Derek Davis with 41 points playing off 10. Kalle Hogan won category 3 with 43 points playing off 18. Category 4 was picked up by Noel Flanagan shooting 43 points playing off 23.

Back to the  ABP Open Singles Qualifiers and Gareth Saunders won category 1 with 34 points playing off 4. Category 2 was won by Jamie Barry with 39 points playing off 9, Category 3 went to Robbie O’ Dwyer with 35 points playing off 17 and Category 4 was won by Frank Lynch with 34 points playing off 28.
