The writing was on the wall last weekend. We all acknowledged on Sunday evening when departing from the Clubhouse after an enjoyable game of golf, that the likelihood, considering the Metrology Forecast, was we would not gather for some time. Jack Frost arrived intent to stay a full week and then depart abruptly ahead of Isha’s arrival. Jack and Isha possibly never played golf.
They don’t understand the anxiety they create for Course Staff, Catering team, ProShop personnel and all golfers.
However, sense and sensibility must reign. There will be better days.
Soon, the worry will be hard ground from drought and adequate or inadequate applications of sunscreen cream.
Focus must turn to Club and Interclub Competitions. Preparations are underway and Entries submitted to Golf Ireland.
Team Managers are requesting Members to express interest and join Panels for the myriad of competition categories.
Spring is 10 days away and Summer will quickly follow. Fourteen to sixteen hours of bright daylight to look forward to.
Let us sharpen skills , use the Driving Range, sign up for Panel(s) and embrace the joy that will be a game of golf on 18 Holes.

Find the Golf Ball
The result theof Find the Golfball draw held on Saturday the 13th January. The envelope drawn was for Christian Healy and his number was 32, not a winner. Christian takes home €20. Next draw takes place on Saturday next the 20th of January. The jackpot will be €860.
Mens
The Race To Christmas Final has been changed to the 3rd of February between 11am and 12 noon. Could all finalists please check time sheet regarding your times. The committee have transferred all names to time sheet as per times on the 20th of January.
The Spring League Competition details will be posted to the Information Boards around the Club House and on social media in the next few day’s. We would ask all interested to sign the sheet on main notice board in hallway behind the Pro Shop or ring Pro Shop to register.
