Cahir Park Club Classic
Morrison BMW Cahir very kindly sponsored the very successful Club Classic played over 3 days in Cahir Park. Weather was perfect for golf and the Course was in impeccable order. There was fun and banter in the Clubhouse about the fast Greens and tricky Flag positions while everyone enjoyed good food and refreshments.
Club Treasurer John Hughes thanked all the golfers who played in the Classic and all those who supported the Fundraiser by sponsoring of TeeBoxes.
Captain Don Quill thanked Gary Morrison and Morrison BMW Cahir for the very generous Sponsorship and Gary in reply, stated he and Morrison BMW Cahir are very happy to be associated with the Classic and Cahir Park G.C.
A 3 person Champagne Scramble with 2 scores to count on all Holes, the overall Winning Team of James Smith, John Smith and Don Lonergan (Slievenamon G.C.) scored fantastic 102pts.
The All-Ladies Team category was won by Fionnuala Foley, Maura Lyons and Antoinette Dougan, (Clonmel G.C.) with 89pts.
The Mixed Team category was won by Niall Morrison, Yvonne Morrison and John Morrison with 93Pts.
There was a Hole in One shot on 5th Hole by Jimmy Flynn on the first day of the Classic.
Ten cards were pulled for additional prizes and so, thirty further golfers were celebrating their luck.
A wonderful evening was enjoyed in the Clubhouse on Sunday, further to the enjoyable Club Classic and the success of two of the Men’s Teams on the day.
Interclub Competitions
On Sunday afternoon, following the last team playing in the Club Classic, the Junior Cup Team set off v. Tramore G.C. Cahir Park was under the Management of Eoin Ahearne and Susan Carey and the team won comfortably 4:1.
The Junior Cup Matches were closely followed by the Pierce Purcell matches v. Slievenamon G.C. Cahir Park was managed by John Morrissey and Tom Hickey and again the home team was successful.
Congratulations to both Teams, Panels and Managers and good wishes for success in the next round.
Ladies Open Day, Thursday 13th June.
Ladies Committee are delighted to advise Dermot and Maria O’Brien, O’Briens Pharmacy, Cahir are very kindly sponsoring the Open Day on Thursday of this week. The competition is
a 3 person Champagne Scramble and booking can be made on BRS or through ProShop 052 7441474. Wonderful prizes to be played for and another enjoyable day of golf on the calendar.
Ladies Results
Tuesday 4th June, ladies played a 12-hole Champagne Scramble. The winning team of
Mary Kenrick, Anne Walsh, Millie Webb and Phil O’Connor scored 63pts. Congratulations Ladies.
Thursday 6th June.
Ladies played 18 Hole Singles Stapleford competition
Winner was the consistently successful Anne Walsh (35) with 34pts. Josie Walsh (27) was second with 33pts and Mary Cotter (26) was third with 32pts
Ladies also played 9 Hole competition on Thursday and again the continuously successful Imelda Fitzpatrick (9) won with 21pts

Course Conditions
The golf Course at Cahir Park is in excellent condition and all golfers are complimentary of Course Manager Declan Walsh and his Team for the work they have put in to recover the Grounds after the hard wet winter. It is up to all Members to respect the work by abiding by the 3Rs: Replace Divots, Repair Pitch marks and Rake the Bunkers. Also, pick up and bring home plastic bottles and sweet papers.
