Successful Weekend for Cahir Park Golf Club
Following on success for the Ladies Club last week when the Revive Active Team won the first round of the competition v Mitchelstown G.C., this weekend saw further success for the Team playing in the inaugural Munster Women’s Trophy v Thurles Ladies on Sunday. The golf played in both Clubs, 3 matches in Thurles Golf Club and two at home, was excellent, all matches were tight, and victory came on the 18th in Thurles.

The sunny weather had arrived on Friday afternoon when the Men’s JB Carr Team hosted Tipperary G.C., again, in the first round of the competition. The Cahir Park team was managed by Sean Casey and Vincent Bradshaw. After 9 Holes, the visitors were slightly ahead in the match. Over the Back 9, the Cahir Park players dug deep and turned the matches around to finish up with a 4-1 victory.
On Saturday Afternoon, it was the turn of the Jimmy Bruen Team to kick off their campaign. Paul Adamson assisted by Francis McCarthy and Noel Hally picked a strong team to play Mitchelstown at home. After 9 Holes, Cahir Park had edged just ahead in each of the matches. After 12 Holes, the home team seemed to be in a strong position and just after 5pm, three of the matches ended in quick succession going in favour of Cahir Park resulting in 3.5-0.5 win.
