Important Date for Diary
We are now a month into the original Spring Season and a week into the Meteorological Spring Season and the good part of the season is the longer bright evenings.
Course Staff have major preparation completed on the far Nine Holes in anticipation of opening all 18 Holes soon, weather, weather, permitting.
The focus is definitely for Sunday 7th April. The traditional Captains Drive-in Day. The real start to the golfing year. Reserve the date in your Diary. A great get-together for all members and friends.
John Quirke Jewellers Mixed Spring League
Thank you to John who is a wonderful sponsor of Cahir Park competitions. Thirteen is the lucky number and all of the thirteen teams’ players are battling hard every week to keep their team to the fore in the John Quirke Jewellers Mixed Spring League. An update of the rankings will be advised next week.
Ladies Results
The Tuesday morning Ladies played a social Singles game as conditions and numbers did not add up to the regular Champagne Scramble competition. Word is everyone enjoyed a good game.
Ladies 12 Holes Singles Stapleford played Monday 26th February to Sunday 3rd March was won by Mary Kenrick (15) with 28pts.
Hot on Mary’s heels was Deirdre O’Neill (12) also with 28pts (C/B) and Marie Keating (17) was ever so close with 27pts. Excellent scores Ladies and congratulations.
Annual Membership Fees
A reminder that Fees are to be paid by 31st March. It is regrettable that all 18 Holes are not yet open. Declan was all set one month ago, and the downpours returned. There is nothing any one golf club can do about the deluges of rain except of course to protect The Course. The work being done behind the scenes, in the downpours and the freezing winds, has to be respected and paid for. Overhead expenses do not disappear in the floods. We all want a great Course for the remainder of the year. This expectation has to be paid for. Payment of Fees on time is essential for the upkeep of the Golf Club. Fees may be paid online or by contacting Kate in the Office on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday.
